Homemade Protein Bars




Looking for a way to get more protein in your diet? Most women struggle to reach a proper amount of protein daily. Try adding in these homemade protein bars to up your intake and to help make healthier choices on a daily basis!! These are great to throw in your workout bag for a pre or post workout snack!

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cup old-fashioned rolled oats

  • 5 Medjool dates (pitted)

  • 1 cup almond butter

  • ¼ cup protein powder

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • ¼ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Line an 8×8 inch square pan with parchment paper

  2. In a food processor, add dates and pulse until coarsely ground.

  3. Add oats, almond butter, protein powder, and vanilla extract and process at low speed, scrape at sides using a spatula in between for even mixing. Blend until thoroughly combined and a coarse dough form.

  4. Gently stir in the chocolate chips. Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan and firmly press the mixture.

  5. Refrigerate for an hour or until set. Cut into 8 bars and serve. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to one week.
